Overview

UpQuest ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using UpQuest, you agree to the practices described here.

Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

• Email address — used for account authentication only
• Health profile data you enter (age, height, weight, goals, activity level)
• Apple Health data you choose to share (steps, sleep, heart rate, workouts, weight)
• Lab work / bloodwork files you voluntarily upload for AI analysis
• Your AI-generated Quest plans and weekly check-in responses
• In-app purchase records (processed by Apple — we receive subscription status only)

Apple Health Data

UpQuest requests access to Apple Health and Apple Watch data solely to personalize your AI health plan. Specifically:

• Steps, active calories, and exercise minutes — to track daily activity
• Sleep analysis — to optimize your recovery recommendations
• Resting heart rate and HRV — to tailor workout intensity
• Weight and body composition — to track progress toward your goals
• Workout history — to build on your existing training baseline

Apple Health data you share is used only to generate and refine your Quest. To build your plan, a snapshot of the relevant health metrics — and, if you upload lab work, your bloodwork values — is sent securely to our third-party AI provider, xAI (Grok), which processes it to generate your plan (see Third-Party Services below). We do not use your Apple Health data to train AI models. We never sell your health data or use it for advertising, and it is not stored on our servers beyond the immediate request.

How We Use Your Data

• To generate and personalize your weekly AI health plan
• To authenticate your account and manage your subscription
• To sync your Quest across devices (stored in your private account)
• To send push notifications you have opted into
• We do NOT use your data for advertising or sell it to any third party

Data Storage & Security

Your account data and Quest plans are stored securely in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security — only you can access your own data. Health data processed for plan generation is not persistently stored on our servers beyond the duration of the API request.

Bloodwork files you upload are stored in encrypted cloud storage tied to your account. You can delete them at any time by deleting your account.

Third-Party Services

UpQuest uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase — authentication and database (supabase.com/privacy)
• xAI (Grok) — AI plan generation (x.ai/legal/privacy-policy)
• Apple StoreKit — in-app purchases (apple.com/privacy)
• Apple HealthKit — health data (apple.com/privacy)

Your Rights

• Access — you can view all your data within the app
• Correction — update your profile at any time from the Profile tab
• Deletion — delete your account and all associated data from Profile → Delete Account
• Portability — your Quest plans are stored locally on your device

Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from the Profile tab → Delete Account. This action is irreversible and will remove your profile, Quest plans, bloodwork files, and subscription records from our servers. Local app data will also be cleared.

Children's Privacy

UpQuest is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

Not Medical Advice

UpQuest provides general health and wellness information for educational and informational purposes only. The AI-generated plans, supplement recommendations, and health insights are NOT a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making significant changes to your diet, exercise routine, or supplement protocol — especially if you have a medical condition or are taking medications.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via push notification or in-app notice. Continued use of UpQuest after changes constitutes acceptance.
